Partnership & Support

Supporting Indigenous Language Preservation, Educational Access & Future Learning Initiative

Why Partnership Matters

The Lakota Language Preservation Project is being developed to help support Indigenous language accessibility, cultural learning, educational outreach, and future preservation efforts through respectful use of emerging technology.

The long-term vision is to explore how conversational AI, interactive educational systems, pronunciation guidance, and culturally informed learning tools may help younger generations engage with language learning in accessible and meaningful ways.

Meaningful preservation efforts require collaboration between educators, cultural knowledge keepers, technology partners, community advocates, and organizations committed to long-term educational access and cultural respect.

Long-Term Educational Goals

The broader vision of the project is to explore how modern educational technology may help support:

• language accessibility,

• intergenerational learning,

• pronunciation assistance,

• storytelling preservation,

• conversational learning,

• and future educational engagement for younger generations.

The initiative is intended to complement — not replace — the importance of community teaching, lived experience, oral tradition, and cultural leadership.
