Terms and Conditions & Intellectual Property Waiver
1. General Terms of Use
Welcome to the Touch a Knob Make a Sound Academy. By using our website and enrolling in our programs, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. These terms govern your participation in our workshops, masterclasses, and digital mentorship platforms.
2. Academy Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, the Academy owns the intellectual property rights for all material, curriculum, and instructional content provided in our workshops and masterclasses. You may access this for your own personal use, but you must not republish, sell, or redistribute Academy course materials without express written consent.
3. Student Conduct & Professional Standards
Students and applicants are expected to maintain a high professional standard of conduct. We reserve the right to terminate access to our programs for anyone who engages in harassment, theft of IP, or failure to adhere to the professional discipline required in the “Sacred Room” standards.
4. Limitation of Liability
The Academy provides its educational services “as is.” We do not guarantee specific commercial outcomes or career success. In no event shall the Academy, its Founder Robert Brooks, or its directors be liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from the use of our services.
5. LIABILITY AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY WAIVER (The “IP Waiver”)
By submitting an application and any associated media files (“The Work”) to the Academy, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
• Data Security: The Academy is not responsible for the loss, damage, or corruption of any media, session files, or hardware submitted. You are solely responsible for maintaining your own backups.
• Personal Liability Release: You hereby release and hold harmless the Academy, Robert Brooks, and the Board of Directors from any liability arising from equipment failure or unforeseen technical tragedies.
• Independent Development: You acknowledge that the Academy’s mentors are active professionals. Submission of your work does not create a confidential relationship. You waive the right to sue for copyright infringement based on future independent works produced by the Academy that may bear a resemblance to your submission.
• No Guarantee of Success: Participation in the program does not grant the Academy ownership of your IP, nor does it guarantee you future royalties or commercial success.
Volunteers do not necessarily have the time. They just have the heart. The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.
